Chinese Embassy vows to support Kungu Fu federation

The Chinese Ambassador in Rwanda Ms. Xing Yu has said they will continue to support the Rwanda Wunshu Kung Fu Federation (RWKF) in order to promote the sport in the country.

Speaking during the 2019 edition of National Kungu Fu Champion at Lycee de Kigali on Sunday, His Ms. Xing Yuchun said that China will continue to support Kung Fu in its endeavors to promote and develop the support.

“I am glad to be here on this occasion, I thank the federation and participants for making it championship a success. We shall support the federation so that you can continue to know China through cultural exchanges” Amb. said.

Over 100 Kung Fu participants from different clubs took part in championship co-sponsored by Chinese People of Republic and RWKF.

Blaise Tuyizere won gold for finishing as the best in the Nan Quan men category after defeating Alex Nshimiyimana who finished second, while Emmanuel Mukuyimana finished third.

Claudine Kwizera yet again came first in the Chan Quan men category to walk away with a second gold, ahead of Tuyizeme while Hubert Gashayija finished third,

Kwizera finished as the best performer in the Wushu Daoshu men category, Evode Niyonsaba was awarded a silver medal in for finishing in second position while Hubert Gashayija won a bronze medal.

Chun Woo Kung Fu club was the over role winner after winning more medals followed by the Tiger Kung Fu club.

Other clubs took part in the championship which conclude the calendar include Kung Fu club Nyagatare, Muhanga Shaolin, Kayonza. Kimisagara Hung-Li Club, Mask de la Paix, Issa The club, Taich Club, Rubavu Shaolin Temple. Others include Wushu Kungfu Club, and Nyanza Shaolin Temple.

Performers, including female, entertained a full house of about 400 spectators with various Kung Fu performances such as Tai Chi, Wing Chun, Qigong, and Sanda.

“It’s a pleasure to cooperate with the Chinese government through sports. We thank the Chinese embassy for supporting the development of the sport in our country,” Marc Uwiragiye RWKF president said.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports Shema Didier Maboko said that they appreciate the young people’s efforts to learn martial arts.
