Kigali: Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) kicks-off a five-day capacity building programme from January 30 to February 3, 2020 for young referees who will preside over the games of the upcoming FERWAFA Youth Competitions 2020.
Forty (40) young referees selected in the eastern zone will be camping in FERWAFA Technical centre for the whole course period (30/01/2020 to 03/02/2020).
The course will be handled by FERWAFA referees’ Technical instructors namely; Munyangoga Apollinaire, KAYIJUKA Gaspard and Mugisha Jean Jacques who is the Physical instructor.
The training is part of a series of development programmes identified by FERWAFA in response to the shortage of young referees in East, North and South zones as perceived during last year’s youth competitions.
The course will focus on Theoretical sessions which will be delivered at FERWAFA head office and practical sessions that will be conducted at Rulindo stadium situated in Rulindo district.
The FERWAFA Referee course for beginners that will be organized in 3 phases will attract 120 young referees selected across eastern, south-western and north western zones of the country excluding Kigali. 40 young referees have been selected per zone.
Below is the timescale for Each course that will be offered in 5 days dedicated for each zone.
- Groupe 1 for 40 referees selected from Eastern zone: 30/01/2020 to 03/02/2020:

- Groupe 2 for 40 referees selected from South-Western zone: 04/02/2020 to 08/02/2020:

Physical instructor: HATEGEKIMANA Corneille,
- Groupe 3 for 40 referees selected from North-Western zone:10/02/2020 to 14/02/2020:
Technical instructor and Head of the group : TUYISHIME Angelique,
Technical instructor: MAZIMPAKA Jean Claude
Physical instructor: KAGABO Ahmed
All participating young referees in the aforementioned courses will officiate the matches of the upcoming FERWAFA Youth Competitions 2020 scheduled to start in March, 2020. (End)
