Mr. Wang Xuekun, Ambassador-designate of China to Rwanda, presented the copy of the Letter of Credence to Dr. Vincent Biruta, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda.
Ambassador-designate Wang Xuekun conveyed the greetings of State Councilor and Foreign Minister H.E. Wang Yi to Minister Biruta and thanked the latter for receiving the copy of credentials just after he finished the arrival quarantine.
Mr. Wang said, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Rwanda, the friendly relations between the two countries have enjoyed sound and stead growth, and the bilateral practical cooperation has yielded fruitful results. Especially in recent years, with the commitment of His Excellency President Xi Jinping and President Paul Kagame, the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries have grown at a faster pace. In the face of COVID-19, China and Rwanda have stood in solidarity against the virus, showing the two countries’ brotherhood during hard times. China is willing to work with Rwanda to actively translate the “Belt and Road” initiative and the outcomes of 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation into concrete results. He is honored to be appointed Ambassador to Rwanda, and stands ready to work with Rwandan government to promote the all-round development of the bilateral relations.
Minister Biruta welcomed the envoy to Rwanda. He said that Rwanda is a good friend of China. The two sides have an excellent friendship and enjoy sound practical cooperation in various sectors. Rwanda is willing to further deepen friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation with China and increase trade and investment ties to better benefit the two peoples. Rwanda will provide full support for the ambassador to perform his duties.
The two sides also exchanged views on issues of common interest. The Ambassador-designate arrived in Kigali on May 22nd. (End)
