Senate President Kalinda Francois Xavier is in Eswatini to attend the 10th Meeting of the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils of Africa and the Arab World (ASSECAA), scheduled to take place from May 11th – 13th, 2023.
The theme of the 10th ASSECAA Meeting is, “The future of the Afro-Arab Economies in light of the successive Global Economic Crisis and ongoing Global Geopolitical Tension and Instability.”
The meeting will particularly discuss the topics related to: ‘Green Economy in Supporting Development in Africa and in the Arab World’, as well as the ‘Future of the Afro-Arab Economy in light of the successive crisis & ongoing global geopolitical tensions and instability.’
The ASSECAA was established in June 2002 and it has 32 member Senates, including 23 from African countries and 9 from Arab countries. The ASSECAA aims to promote economic ties, trade, and mutual support among African and Arab countries through Parliamentary Diplomacy. (End)
