Noura Al Kaabi honoured the memory of victims of Genocide
On 08 March 2024, Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial to pay his respects to the more than one million victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi.
The tour began with a laying of wreaths at mass graves where 250,000 victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi have their final resting-place. This was followed by a guided tour of the permanent exhibitions which document the genocide and its aftermath.
During this visit, Noura Al Kaabi and his delegation honoured the memory of victims of Genocide against the Tutsi & toured memorial exhibits that detail the causes, reality & consequences of the Genocide as well as the incredible stories of Rwanda’s journey to rebuilding.
Concluding the visit, Noura Al Kaabi left the following message in the memorial guest book: “Thank you for being brave and brave. This is a dark part of human history. History we all have to learn from. All my prayers are for those who lost their lives and I hope that we will continue to pray for them and that this incident will not happen again”
Noura Al Kaabi came to the Memorial in relation to the holding of the first session of the Joint Economic Committee between the UAE(United Arab Emirates) and Rwanda in the capital, Kigali. (End)
