Irembo, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, is pleased to announce the successful launch of two innovative online services on the IremboGov platform, among other services for legalising public documents.
Launched last month, these services aim to streamline and facilitate the journey of applicants from abroad to Rwanda. Innovative services
1. Legalisation of public documents from abroad to be used in Rwanda: This service facilitates the legalisation of foreign documents from abroad to be used in Rwanda by all different users. Applicants must first obtain legalisation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in their home country, particularly for documents from countries that are not part of the Apostille Convention. For documents from countries that are part of the Apostille Convention, applicants should always secure Apostille certification from the relevant authorities in their respective countries.
2. Legalisation of Power of Attorney for transfer of property: This service is designed to streamline the online process of validating powers of attorney related to property transfers.
Impact on user’s journey/ key features
Efficient transactions: The new services significantly reduce the time and effort required to legalize a document and validate powers of attorney, making property transactions and legalising any document faster and smoother.
Legal compliance: Ensures that all property transactions and legalisation of public documents from abroad to be used in Rwanda are legally compliant and properly documented.
Improved oversight: This enhancement enhances the government’s ability to process and oversee property transfer documents, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
Context:
This marks a significant milestone in Irembo’s ongoing commitment to enhancing user convenience and operational efficiency. Previously, users had to navigate complex, time-consuming processes, often involving multiple in-person visits to various offices. The new online services eliminate these hurdles, allowing users to complete transactions from the comfort of their homes or offices.
Irembo’s integration of these services demonstrates a progressive step towards digital governance, aligning with Rwanda’s vision of becoming a leading digital hub in Africa. The seamless process not only enhances user experience, but also supports the government’s broader goals of improving public service delivery and promoting transparency.
