President Kagame, First Lady attended the clash between Rwanda and Great Britain

President Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame joined thousands of supporters for the game opposing Rwanda’s Women National Basketball team and Great Britain at the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup pre-qualifiers underway at BK Arena in Kigali. 

In a highly anticipated match, Great Britain emerged victorious over Rwanda with a final score of 75-61 in the Group C preliminary qualifiers for the Basketball World Cup in women.

Rwanda’s team lost to Great Britain but finished second in the group, securing its place in the semifinals to be played this Saturday.

In the upcoming 1/2 matches on Saturday, August 24, 2024, Rwanda will face Senegal while Great Britain will take on Hungary. Both teams are looking to secure their spots in the next stage of the competition. (End)
