Rwanda Foreign Minister Nduhungirehe meets his Emirates counterpart

On the sideline of the 79th UN general Assembly in New York, the Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs Olivier Nduhungirehe met with Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates.

They discussed further strengthening existing good bilateral relations between Rwanda and the United Arab Emirates, according to Rwandan diplomacy.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1995, the two countries were keen to strengthen joint bilateral relations, develop aspects of cooperation between them, and move forward towards broader horizons, which contributed to Rwanda opening its embassy headquarters in Abu Dhabi and its consulate headquarters in Dubai in the year 2015, and the opening of the UAE embassy headquarters in Kigali in the year 2018.

In this context, the two countries have signed several important economic agreements, including avoidance of double taxation, air services, promotion and mutual protection of investments, and other agreements under negotiation to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries. (End)
