Rwanda’s Foreign Affairs Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe with his counterpart from Samoa have both established diplomatic relations between their countries.
“Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe signed a joint communiqué, together with Hon. Afioga Fiamē Naomi Mata’afa Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Samoa, establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries”, Rwanda Foreign Affairs Ministry said via platform X.
The meeting of the two leaders happened in Apia,-the capital city of Samoa-, on the sidelines of the biennial Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) hosted by Charles III, the King of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms.
Samoa is an island country in Polynesia, consisting of two main islands (Savai’i and Upolu); two smaller, inhabited islands (Manono and Apolima); and several smaller, uninhabited islands, including the Aleipata Islands (Nu’utele, Nu’ulua, Fanuatapu and Namua).
Samoa is a sovereign state and a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. (End)
