Minister Nduhungirehe attend 46th Executive Council of African Union

Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe attended the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU) in Ethiopia. This high level meeting brought together African Foreign Ministers and decision-makers from across the continent. They oversaw crucial elections, appointments, and decisions aimed at fast-tracking the Aspirations and Goals of Agenda 2063.

On the sidelines of the 46th Ordinary Session of the AU Executive Council, Minister Nduhungirehe interacted with counterparts from across Africa on various issues of common interest:

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ghana. Their discussion focused on further strengthening existing good bilateral relations and cooperation between Rwanda and Ghana.

Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt. They discussed opportunities to further bilateral relations, as well as the security situation in the Great Lakes region.

While in Addis Ababa, he also met with Hon. Sharren Haskel, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel.  They discussed further deepening existing good bilateral and multilateral ties between Rwanda and Israel.

The AU Executive Council is a decision-making body of the AU aimed at coordinating policies and taking action on political, economic, and social development.

This meeting convened ahead of the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government Summit, which took place on Saturday, 15-16 February 2025, under the theme: “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations.” (End)
