On May 2nd, Ambassador Wang Xuekun visited the RDF Command and Staff College, and met with the College Commandant, Brigadier General Andrew Nyamvumba, the College Deputy Commandant, Brigadier General Jean Chrysostome Ngendahimana, and other faculty members. Mr. Li Dayi, Chinese Defense Attache and Senior Captain(Navy) to Rwanda was present.
Ambassador Wang said, since China and Rwanda established diplomatic relations in 1971, our friendship has blossomed and borne fruits in areas ranging from high-level exchanges, trade and investment, culture and education to military cooperation. This is a valid practice of the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by President Xi. China is ready to take the Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation as a starting point, to work closely with Rwanda, and promote greater development of our bilateral relations.
Senior Captain Mr. Li introduced the military exchanges and cooperation between China and Rwanda, as well as the achievements in the Chinese military modernization.
Commandant Brig Gen Andrew NYAMVUMBA gave an introduction of the college, and pledged to join hands with China to further promote bilateral military cooperation.
Ambassador Wang also visited the academic lecture hall, teaching and training classroom, and library. (End)
