Kigali Genocide Memorial welcomed American comedian Dave Chappelle to pay respects to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and learn more about the history of Genocide. 

In honour of more than one million victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, Dave Chapelle laid a wreath on the burial place where 250.000 victims of the Genocide are laid to rest. 

Through a guided tour of the memorial exhibits, Dave Chapelle learnt more about causes, reality and consequences of the Genocide as well as the incredible stories of post-genocide reconstruction.

The Kigali Genocide Memorial is the final resting-place for 250,000 victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi. It is also a driver in Rwanda’s extraordinary journey towards healing and reconciliation.

Dave Chappelle arrived in Rwanda on Wednesday ahead of his show which was held at Kōzo Kigali, a high end restaurant, where revelers parted with Rwf200,000 to watch the legendary funnyman perform.

Born in 1973 in Washington DC, Dave Chappelle is widely regarded as one of the world’s most renowned stand-up comedian and actor. (End)
