Kigali: Centum Investment, the East Africa's leading investment company, has appointed four independent non-executive directors including Dr Donald Kaberuka, former President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) who also served as the Minister of finance in Rwanda to comply with corporate governance rules.

Uganda’s Attorney-General William Byaruhanga, former CMC Holdings acting CEO Mary Ngige and AIG Kenya Insurance managing director Catherine Igathe are the other new board members.

“The appointment of the new directors was effected in compliance with the Capital Markets Authority Code of Corporate Governance Practices for issuers of Securities to the Public, 2015,” Centum Investment said in a statement this Wednesday.

Centum Investment noted that it has picked foreign directors to reflect its pan-African expansion plans. Centum Investment is East Africa's leading investment company listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange and cross-listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange.

Centum Investment has interests in private equity, quoted equity and real estate investments in East Africa as well as investments in listed securities across Sub-saharan Africa.(End)
