The Minister is said to have returned from the United States and was immediately hospitalized in VIP section of the elite King Faisal Hospital. A few days later, two children in her family developed symptoms of the virus commonly known as swine flu.
Rumour started circulating on the same day October 11 when RNA broke the news of the spread of the virus, suggesting that the hospitalized family of three first cases included a high profile individual. Though RNA got to know the minister in question, information was held back to avoid panic.
Available information suggests that the minister, who RNA cannot name for purposes of not causing panic among people who often get in contact with this official, was returning after being part of the Presidential team which was in the U.S.
As of Thursday evening, all the 32 infected people are recovering and being treated from their homes, according to Dr. Justin Wane. He told RNA that the first cases have actually recovered.
However, Dr. Wane refused to confirm whether the source of the virus was the minister. He also declined to comment farther, saying only that “whatever the sources of the virus is not important. What is important are the measures we took which have controlled the spread of the virus.”
