The Standing Committee on National Budget and Patrimony will also hold talks with members of civil society organisations to hear their opinions on the Budget Framework Paper.
Budget hearing sessions will be organised through three clusters (Economic, Social, and Governance Clusters), 4-15 May 2023 from 8:00am every day.
Budget hearing sessions are organised to assess if the development programs and activities planned and budgeted for respond to the needs of citizens based on the national priorities (Vision 2050, NST1, Presidential pledges, cabinet decisions, resolutions of the national dialogue “Umushyikirano”, areas, ongoing projects, counterpart funds among others).
The findings of the budget hearing sessions will be approved by the Plenary Assembly of the Chamber of Deputies and submitted to the Government to be taken into consideration during the preparation of the state finance bill of 2023/24.
Budget Hearing Sessions will be virtual, therefore; a room will be reserved at the Parliament for Media Practitioners who wish to cover this vital event. (End)
