Mr. Wang Xuekun, Ambassador-designate of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Rwanda, arrived in Kigali with his wife. Mr. Philip Karenzi, Director General of Asia and Pacific of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda, and officials of the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda received them at the airport.
Mr. Wang said that he is very honored to serve as the Ambassador to Rwanda. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Rwanda in 1971, the two countries have developed profound political mutual trust, achieved fruitful results in economic and trade cooperation, and expanded people-to-people and cultural exchanges.
He believed that under the stewardship of the leaders of the two countries and with the participation of the two peoples, China-Rwanda relations will embrace a brighter future. He looked forward to working with the Rwandan side, through strengthened communication, to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, so as to realize a greater development of bilateral relations, and benefit both countries and peoples.
Mr. Karenzi warmly welcomed Mr. Wang’s arrival on behalf of the Government of Rwanda, He said that Rwanda attaches great importance to Rwanda-China relations and will work with China to develop closer, more dynamic and more fruitful bilateral relations. The Rwandan side will try to provide facilitation and assistance for the Ambassador-designate during his tenure.
Mr. Wang Xuekun is the fifteenth Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda. (End)
