On November 8, the 6th International Conference on Environment, Energy and Development (ICEED 2023) was held in Kigali. The Conference is co-hosted by the University of Lay Adventists of Kigali (UNILAK) and Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
Wang Xuekun, Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, Professor Jean Ngamije, Vice Chancellor of UNILAK, Professor Chen Xi, Director of the Xinjiang Branch of CAS, Professor Wang Qingfeng, Director of the Sino-Africa Joint Research Center (SAJOREC) of CAS, attended the Conference and delivered remarks.
Ambassador Wang Xuekun encouraged scholars from China and Rwanda to work together to explore more areas of bilateral cooperation and achieve more results, to promote the high-quality development of the two countries.
Professor Ngamije thanked Chinese scientific research institutions for their strong support for Rwanda’s academic development, saying that the cooperation between the two countries has been fruitful and strongly supported Rwanda’s sustainable development.
Experts from both countries agreed to deepen cooperation and exchanges to make greater contributions to China-Rwanda cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and South-South cooperation.
Dozens of scholars from China and Rwanda attended this meeting. They also together inaugurated the Rwandan Office of the Sino-Africa Joint Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. (End)
