Chinese Training Team of Military Parade arrives in Rwanda

Upon the invitation of Rwanda Defense Force, the Chinese Training Team of Military Parade arrived in Rwanda on April 15th, and will work together with the RDF to help with the training of military parade. The team was received by the Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, Wang Xuekun, and Head of Planning of RDF Colonel Bukenya.

Ambassador  Wang welcomed the team. He said that the military parade reflects an army’s spirit. That the RDF adopting Chinese military parade fully demonstrates the deep mutual trust and friendship between China and Rwanda and the two armies. He wishes this mission a success and believes it will contribute to the development of relations between the two countries and armies.

Colonel Bukenya thanked China for sending the training team and recalled the occasion when China first sent such a team in 2019. He said RDF will learn from the experiences of Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and believed this mission will continue to deepen Rwanda-China ties and military cooperation.

Head of the Training Team, Lieutenant Yang Chengqun, said, it is a great honour to conduct this task in Rwanda. The team will spare no efforts to fulfil its duty and promote the friendship between the two armies.

The training team is dispatched by the Honor Guard of PLA for Beijing Garrison, and will work in Rwanda for 6 months. In 2019, RDF for the first time invited PLA to help it with the training and demonstrated the Chinese-style military parade on the event of the 25th anniversary of liberation of Rwanda, which drew wide praise from all walks of life in Rwanda.
