The incumbent president Kagame will be in Gatsibo district – where his country home is based, and where he spends much of the time when he is not in Kigali or on government business.
For the afternoon, the RPF will be in Nyagatare district – a relatively new area which arose after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. In just a few years, the town has grown – and even has a university.
The eastern province is also home to most of the country’s military and political elite.
PSD will meanwhile be taking its candidate Dr. Jean Damascene Ntawukuriryayo in Bugesera district– where government has invested massively. PSD is having a single rally for the day – but has been taking on the RPF with two every day.
Proper Higiro of the Liberal Party (PL) will be campaigning in Kirehe district – where the incumbent Kagame was on Wednesday.
PPC for its part will be rally support for Dr. Alvera Mukabaramba silently in Cyangugu where she campaigned on Wednesday. The campaign is planned to rest for Thursday.
