The 4th edition of the EAPCCO Games climaxed in Kigali on Monday, March, 27, after an electrifying week-long of sports activities full of fun, networking, interactions, bonding and strengthening cooperation against transnational organized crimes.
Eight countries with 83 men and women teams competed in 13 sports categories; football, basketball, handball, volleyball, netball, beach volleyball, shooting, boxing, karate, athletics, darts, judo and taekwondo.
Rwanda was the overall winner of the multi-sports competition after sweeping nine out of 13 sports disciplines, as Kenya and Uganda followed in that order.
Overall, Rwanda won 91 medals, including 45 gold, 21 silver and 25 bronze medals.
Kenya, which topped the log in athletics, won 88 medals (28 gold, 21 silver and 39 bronze) while Uganda, which emerged the best in netball, bagged 76 medals, including 18 gold, 30 silver and 28 bronze medals. (End)
