General James Kabarebe, Senior Defence and Security Advisor to the President of Rwanda, is on a three-day visit in Central African Republic(CAR).
According to a statement from Rwanda Defence Force(RDF), General James Kabarebe met with Rwanda Security Forces operating under the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic and bilateral agreement.
In a related development, CAR President Faustin Archange Touadéra is in Rwanda on a working visit. Upon his arrival he met with President Kagame at his office and discussed a range of areas including the existing cooperation between the two countries and the state of security in CAR.
In December 2020, Rwanda deployed force protection troops to the Central African Republic, under an existing bilateral agreement on defense.
The Rwanda Defence Force is also one of the largest troop contributors to the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) since 2014. (End)
