GOUT DE /GOOD FRANCE 2020: 6th edition in Rwanda from 16th to 22nd March

Kigali: The year 2020 will mark the tenth anniversary of the inscription of France’s Gastronomic Meal on the list of the UNESCO’s intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Launched by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and Chef Alain Ducasse in 2015, Goût de/Good France celebrates every year France’s gastronomic meal.

In 156 countries, restaurants and French Embassies bring together nearly 350,000 people to enjoy a dinner à la française.  Over the past  five  years,  Goût  de/Good  France  has  become  one  of  the  world’s  foremost gastronomic events, and its success is growing every year.

During the week of the 16th to 22nd of March, Rwanda will take part in the 6th edition of Goût de/Good France.  Eight Chefs and restaurants around Rwanda have signed up on https://restaurateurs.goodfrance.com/fr/restaurants-participants, to promote this French customary practice and Rwanda’s local cuisine.

These restaurants will follow a simple rule: compile a four-course menu based on the codes of French gastronomy and cooking techniques. Every chef will be free to pick their menu according to the local market and seasonal products.

The registered restaurants, whose chefs will be presenting their menu during the press conference, are the following: Brachetto (Kigali), Bugesera Lodge (Karumuna), L’Epicurien (Kigali), Mantis Social Restaurant (Nyagatare), Onomo Hotel (Kigali), O’Tamarillo (Kigali), Poivre Noir (Kigali), and The Hut (Kigali). The menus that will be offered are available online at https://restaurateurs.goodfrance.com/fr/restaurants-participants.

On this occasion, the Chargé d’affaires of the French Republic in Rwanda will host a press conference on Thursday 12th March at 10 am, at the Résidence de France (KN 25 St 5). (Fin)
