The handover ceremony between the outgoing Minister of Sports, Aurore Mimosa Munyangaju, and the incoming Minister, Richard Nyirishema, took place today.
The event was attended by the Ag. President of Rwanda National Olympic and Sports Committee, heads of sport federations and the staff of the Ministry of Sports.
In his remarks, Minister Nyirishema emphasized the necessity of close collaboration with stakeholders in establishment and sustainability of key structures to advance sports in Rwanda.
Richard Nyirishema is no novice in the world of sports. He has been the Vice President of Competitions for the Rwanda Basketball Federation (FERWAFA) since 2016.
Beyond sports, he has an extensive background in water resources management, having worked as the Senior Water Supply Manager for the USAID Isoko y’Ubuzima Project. (End)
