Qatar welcomed the comprehensive agreements on criteria and mechanisms for holding key positions concluded between the delegations of the Libyan High Council of State and the House of Representatives during the 2nd round of the inter-Libyan dialogue of Bouznika.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry expressed, in a statement, the state of Qatar’s aspiration that these agreements help support efforts for a political solution in Libya and for rebuilding the state while preserving the rights of the Libyan people and the rule of law.
The statement renewed Doha’s support for the Skhirat agreement signed between the Libyan parties in Morocco in 2015, calling on “all the Libyan brothers to defend the national interest and to adhere to the dialogue without excluding any component of the Libyan society in order to achieve a comprehensive political settlement which preserves the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Libya, and meets the aspirations of its people for security and stability”.
