Israeli Ambassador to Rwanda met with leaders of the Chamber of Deputies

Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Kazarwa Gertrude, Deputy Speakers Uwineza Beline and Sheikh M. Fazil interacted with Einat Weiss, Ambassador of the State of Israel in Rwanda. 

Ambassador Einat Weiss and leaders of the Chamber of Deputies commended the existing bilateral relations and explored ways to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy.

Rwanda and Israel have enjoyed, over the years, a special, strong and fruitful relationship. In recent years, there has been an increase in high-level state visits between the two countries.

In 2016, the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI) in cooperation with MASHAV – the Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation, inaugurated a new agricultural center dubbed ‘Rwanda-Israel Horticulture Center of Excellence’ to streamline Rwanda’s horticulture industry.

The same year, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Rwanda. In 2017, Rwandan President Paul Kagame visited Israel.

Israel President, Isaac Hergoz, on Sunday, April 7, 2024, arrived in Rwanda to attend the 30th commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. (End)
