As the first ever Kigali Shopping Festival Expo gets underway at Gikondo Expo Ground, Rwanda National Police (RNP) has deployed to ensure that security of exhibitors and the public attending the Expo remains normal and favorable for the event.
RNP also urges the public to avoid anything that can cause public disturbance.
The Expo, which runs from 8th to 26th December, brings together about 450 exhibitors from 11 countries from Africa and beyond.
“The RNP has put in place measures to ensure that shoppers go about safely, including traffic flow, response to fire emergencies and other incidents that can affect their movements and shopping experience.
As a norm, we urge the public to continue being responsive to security matters, follow instructions by Police officers who are deployed to guide the public in traffic and security matters, and to continue working with security organs against anything that can cause public disorder,” RNP spokesperson, Commissioner of Police (CP) John Bosco Kabera, said.
He reassured that similar Expo events held before were incident-free and that this will not be any different, in partnership with all stakeholders and the public in general, through information sharing. (End)
