Kigali: Africa’s Continental Workshop on Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) and Governance of SDGs” will take in Kigali, 21-22 Oct 2019 and it is organized by the African Union Peer Review Mechanism Secretariat (APRM) with the Sustainable Development Goals Center for Africa (SDGC/A) scheduled to take place at the Marriot Hotel, Kigali.
The workshop aims to stocktake on the progress of the African Union Member States (MSs) towards the implementation, monitoring and reporting on Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development and Agenda 2063 ‘Africa We Want’.
It also seeks to provide guiding principles to the AU member states candidates for the VNR during the upcoming High-level Political Forum, New York, July 2020.
Additionally, this is to encourage peer-learning and sharing experiences between African countries regarding the VNR preparations, domestication, monitoring, evaluation of SDGs at national levels as well as the role of regional support provided by AU and its partners in fostering the implementation of SDGs.
