Rwandan Peacekeepers working under the United Nations Mission in the Republics of South Sudan(UNMISS) with Rwandans living in South Sudan and friends of Rwanda, on June 4, joined to the rest of Rwandans to mark the 29th national liberation anniversary.
Yesterday, Rwandan community living in South Sudan, Military & Police peacekeepers under UNMISS were joined by other UN contingents, UN agencies, South Sudanese & UNMISS officials at Durupi Military Base Camp, Juba, to celebrate the 29th anniversary of Rwanda’s liberation day.
In all mission areas, Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) was joined by Rwanda National Police (RNP) and Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS) along with the Rwandan Diaspora in celebrating the Liberation Day with military parades and traditional dances.
Currently Rwanda is the second biggest troop contributing country in support of UN/AU mandates with military personnel deployed under different peacekeeping missions in Darfur, South Sudan and Central Africa Republic. (End)
