Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame received Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and the UK Minister of State for Development & Africa ahead of 30th commemoration of the Genocide Against the Tutsi ‘Kwibuka 30’.
President Kagame and Ethiopia’s Premier Abiy Ahmed held a discussion focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in sectors of agriculture, infrastructure and education, among others.

Both our nations are making great efforts in the field of agriculture and entails collaboration in cascading our positive efforts into the region”, said Abiy Ahmed Ali via X (ex- tweeter).
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali is in Rwanda for a two-day working visit during which he will attend the 30th Commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi ‘Kwibuka 30’ that claimed the lives of more than one million Tutsi in 100 days.
President Kagame also received Andrew Mitchell, UK Minister of State for Development & Africa, who is in Kigali to represent the United Kingdom at the 30th Commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi ‘Kwibuka 30’.
President Kagame and Minister Andrew Mitchell discussed Rwanda’s progress over the last 30 years, the productive bilateral cooperation between the two countries as well as the need for a political solution to address the root causes of regional insecurity.
UK Minister of State Andrew Mitchell delivered a message of solidarity from His Majesty King Charles III in memory of the over one million victims.
Abiy Ahmed Ali and Andrew Mitchell are expected to attend the solemn ceremony of remembrance which will take place at BK Arena on Sunday, April 7.
A number of foreign dignitaries including Heads of States, ministers and diplomats continue to arrive in the country ahead of ‘Kwibuka 30’ which starts on April 7. (End).
