The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry in charge of Emergency Management(MINEMA), Habinshuti Philippe, and Francis Ngabo, the CEO of Rwanda Space Agency(RSA), signed an MoU for cooperation in emergency management to strengthen the ability of MINEMA staff and partners in use of spatial information and solutions to minimize and effectively respond to disasters effects.
Areas of collaboration include preparedness, response operations and recovery monitoring, spatial solutions in disaster management, early warning, hazard monitoring using satellite image products, research and innovation and other areas depending on the needs and circumstances.
Rwanda Space Agency (RSA) was established in 2020 with the mission of developing Rwanda’s space sector towards social-economic development. (End)
