Minister Biruta closes the National Security Symposium 2024

Today at the Kigali Convention Centre, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vincent Biruta officially closed the National Security Symposium 2024, which took place under the theme: “Contemporary Security Challenges, the African perspective”.

He also participated in a panel discussion on “Insecurity in Africa : Roots, Implications and Way Forward” alongside Ambassador Abdoulaye Diop, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mali, Mr. Brian Kagoro, from the Global Pan African Movement and Brigadier General Metodi Hadji-Janev, Associate Professor from Macedonia. 

The three-day symposium brought together academicians, government officials, diplomats and subject matter experts including Generals, Senior Military, Police Officers and civilians from 52 countries to discuss contemporary security issues. 

The National Security Symposium 2024 was jointly organised by Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College (RDFCSC) and the University of Rwanda (UR). (End)
