Minister of Foreign Affairs Vincent Biruta arrived in Lusaka, Zambia this morning to participate in the 18th Meeting of COMESA Ministers of Foreign Affairs ahead of the 22nd COMESA Summit.
The main agenda items include consideration of the report of the 18th Meeting of the Committee on Peace and Security and election of members to the COMESA Committee of Elders.
The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) is a regional economic community in Africa with twenty-one member states stretching from Tunisia to Eswatini.
COMESA was formed in December 1994, replacing a Preferential Trade Area which had existed since 1981. (End)
