The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vincent Biruta, and Mr. Mohamed Moussa, Director General of the Agency for the Safety of Air Navigation in Africa & Madagascar (ASECNA), signed a Host Agreement between the Government of Rwanda and ASECNA.

On 1st December 2021 at Kigali Convention Centre, Rwanda and ASECNA signed a memorandum of Understanding(MoU) for the cooperation on Air Navigation & Air traffic services in Rwanda & ASCENA Member States for safety improvement.

The MoU provides en-route air navigation services in the airspaces, coupled with organising the airspaces and air routes in compliance with the ICAO provisions, publishing aeronautical information, forecasting and transmitting information related to aviation meteorology.

The cooperation clearly defines the implementation of safety and quality management systems pursuant to the ICAO standards and recommended practices.

ASECNA is an International public institution which is governed by the 2010 revised Dakar Convention. It has a legal personality and enjoys financial autonomy and was established on December 12, 1959 at Saint Louis in Senegal.

The Agency for the Safety of Air Navigation in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA) still remains an accomplished model of collaborative management of airspaces after more than half a century. (End)
