Minister of State in charge of East African Community, Prof. Nshuti Manasseh received copies of credentials of William Alexander McDonald, High Commissioner-designate of Barbados to Rwanda, with residence in Nairobi, Kenya.
Rwanda and Barbados formalized diplomatic relations since July 2015. The two countries share several interest and commitments on international community, including their membership to the United Nations, Commonwealth of Nations and Organization for Africa, and Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS).
Under the Commonwealth framework, Rwanda and Barbados waived visas for citizens visiting their respective countries for up to 30 days. About air services and sports development, on Wednesday, 9th November 2022, both countries signed Air Services Agreement and Sports Cooperation Agreement.
Barbados is an island country located in the Caribbean region, North America. It is one of 56 member States of the Commonwealth since 2021 when it became a republic. Its economy is mainly driven by foreign investment, tourism and international trades.
