Rwanda National Police Automobile Inspection Center (MIC) has moved its mobile inspection lane to Rusizi District to serve owners of vehicles in the Western Province and neighbouring districts.
From December 18 to December 23, the AIC mobile lane will be operating from 7a.m, to 6p.m.
“We are taking automobile inspection services closer to the people to prevent them from trekking long distances to inspection centres, which affect their businesses,” Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Aloys B. Munana, the Commissioner for AIC, said.
He added: “We urge owners of automobiles operating in this region, those delivering goods or transiting through Rusizi to seize this opportunity to ensure that their vehicles are roadworthy for their safety and the safety of other road users, which might be affected by the mechanical status of vehicles.”
The mobile lane is one of the AIC facilities established in different parts of the country to inspect automobile roadworthiness to prevent damage caused by mechanical failure.
Other AIC centres are in Remera in Gasabo District; Rwamagana, Musanze and Huye districts. (End)
