The Ministerial reshuffle in Morocco on Wednesday, October 09, 2019, aims to provide the Government with high-level profiles, selected according to the criteria of competence and merit as His Majesty King Mohammed VI, expressed it in the Throne Speech, on July 30, 2019.
This reshuffle, which is not a redistribution of ministerial portfolios, is considered as the largest and the most daring in the Kingdom’s political history. This is a complete overhaul of the executive, which proceeds from a firm will to restructure, streamline and modernize it.
The tightening of the Governmental organization chart, which now only includes full Ministers and a few delegate Ministers, will make it possible to gain coherence, clarify responsibilities and eliminate redundancies and interferences.
The reshuffling has also manifested itself through the merger, the regrouping or the removal of certain Departments, which constitutes a modernist approach, which is in line with the practices used in advanced countries.
His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan people are awaiting for the achievements of this Government, whose members were appointed on the basis of their proven and recognized skills. It is not in any way a Government of technocrats, but a Government of a team conceived as a real task force, operational, focused on efficiency and driven by an obligation of performance.
The new Government reconciles the political approach, since it is carried by a parliamentary majority, with the search for competent profiles, which also reflects into an opening on all the competences, regardless of political orientations. It's a consensus about efficiency, beyond political parties. (End)
