Members of Parliament, in joint sitting, hailed Rwanda’s strategy and mechanisms with emphasis on subsidizations initiated by the Government aimed at recovering the economy and fighting against inflation after the COVID-19 pandemic.
On February 13, 2024, Prime Minister Dr Edouard Ngirente addressed the joint sittings of the Chambers of Parliament on the status of the plan to revive the country’s economy after the COVID-19 epidemic and detailed the actions taken.
The Prime Minister briefed the Parliament members on the Government’s initiatives, highlighting the support provided across various categories to boost the economy and tackle the rise in prices because of COVID-19.
The Minister expressed gratitude to Rwandans for their significant role in supporting and continuing to assist the Government in implementing measures to enhance the country’s economy. He urged them to participate more actively in work, aiming to increase the production of domestically manufactured goods and achieve self-sufficiency in food.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Rwanda’s economy is generally in a good state and assured that the Government is doing everything possible to ensure a continued decrease in market prices and an increase in agricultural production. (End)
