MTN Rwandacell PLC (MTN Rwanda) today announced the rollout of an enriched offer for all newly registered customers to the network. In addition to the data bundles, free SMS, and airtime bonuses that were previously offered to new subscribers; the Welcome Pack now includes a Mobile Money enhancement.
Customers who purchase a new SIM card to join the MTN Rwanda network will now receive Mobile Money, “MoMo”, of Rwf 500 on their MoMo wallets to purchase airtime, in addition to 100 SMS and 200MB data.
Commenting on the essence of the Welcome Pack; Chantal Kagame, the Chief Executive Officer of Mobile Money Rwanda Ltd said: “We have seen a shift in our customers’ consumption patterns and MTN is constantly looking for innovative ways to ensure that their needs are met. In addition to addressing the barriers that hinder financial and digital inclusion, we want our customers to use MoMo as a fast, easy and convenient channel to buy all the airtime and data bundles they need on the MTN Rwanda network.”
New MTN Rwanda customers can access the Rwf 500 welcome bonus by dialling *182*2*1*4# and following the simple instructions on setting up their MoMo PIN.
The offer will be activated immediately after the newly registered SIM card holder activates their MoMo account.
Furthermore, in their first three (3) months on the network, new subscribers will receive a 20% airtime bonus and a data bonus of 50MBs on any airtime reload or data bundle purchased via MoMo, all valid for 24 hours.
“Customers can access the MoMo offer safely and quickly through our Mobile Money platform. This offer is only the beginning of many other incentives to come, encouraging everyone to take up digital solutions to drive a cashless economy and expand financial inclusion in Rwanda,” concluded Kagame.
