The three-day National Security Symposium 2021 jointly organized by Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College (RDFCSC) and the University of Rwanda (UR) was officially closed today in Musanze district.
While officiating at the closing ceremony, Minister of Defence Maj Gen Albert Murasira said that the eighth National Security Symposium did not only allow participants to deliberate on the challenges that the world is currently facing, but also to stress suggested solutions.
“Engaging in an intellectual discourse of this nature is integral to finding solutions to emerging threats at national, regional and international level. It helps us to connect the dots across to all we do and truly embrace the principles of inclusion and sustainability. This symposium has reminded us that the future is determined by what we do now and that the window of opportunity is closing fast. I encourage all of us in our small worlds to translate the insights from these three days into action.”
The National Security Symposium is meant to equip officers with high professional standards in command and control aiming to respond effectively to the challenges of the contemporary operating environment.
The Senior Command and Staff Course (SCSC) intake 09 is composed of 47 Senior Officers (Major to Colonel) from Rwanda Defence Force and Rwanda National Police. (End)
