NESA conducts TVET Quality Audit 2024 to enhance educational standards

The National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA), in collaboration with the TVET Quality Management Project (TQUM) and Rwanda Polytechnic (RP), is conducting the TVET Quality Audit 2024, marking a significant effort to elevate the standards of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) schools across Rwanda.

Scheduled from May 13 to 31, 2024, this audit aims to meticulously evaluate the delivery of competency-based training and assessment (CBT/CBA) within 563 Technical Secondary Schools (TSSs) and Vocational Training Centers (VTCs) nationwide.

Aligned with the National Strategy for Transformation 1 (NST 1), the TVET Quality Audit 2024 underscores Rwanda’s commitment to cultivating a skilled workforce, thereby driving social transformation and strengthening the nation’s socioeconomic fabric.

Recognizing the pivotal role of access to quality education, the Ministry of Education (MINEDUC) has identified TVET as a cornerstone within the broader Education Sector Strategic Plan (ESSP).

NESA assumes a crucial responsibility in safeguarding educational quality across public, government-subsidized, and private TVET schools. By auditing TSSs and VTCs against predefined quality assurance standards, the initiative seeks to not only re-accredit TVET schools but also provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.

As Rwanda advances towards cultivating a skilled workforce, initiatives such as the TVET Quality Audit 2024 serve as pivotal milestones in realizing the nation’s vision of inclusive prosperity and sustainable development. (End)
