Rulindo: Police in Rulindo District have recovered 1060 liters of fuels previously stolen from China construction company limited (CHICO), who are constructing Base-Rukomo in Rulindo District.
Four persons including employees of CHICO have so far been arrested in connection with the theft of the fuel.
The fuels were recovered from residents who had bought it from some company workers.
Handing over the fuel Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Jean Baptiste Ntaganira the Northern Region Police Commander reiterated the commitment of Rwanda national police to crack down on lawlessness and warned that security operations will continue to be maintained across the province to secure both property and lives of residents.
At a public gathering attended by over 1000 residents, ACP Ntaganira thanked CHICO Ltd for timely informing security which facilitated operations.
He castigated employees of the company who abused the trust of protecting company resources and warned that investigations are still underway by the relevant security, institutions to establish all suspects involved in the theft.
He also thanked the resident for sharing information leading to the recovery of the fuel and arrest suspects.
While receiving the fuel, Donatien Nsengiyumva, on behalf of CHICO hailed police for acting quickly and professionally in conducting operations which lead to the recovery of the fuels.
He said, “as soon as we contacted Police to file a theft case, law enforcers promised to follow up the matter and indeed they have lived to their promise”. (End)
