The District Administrative Security Support Organ (DASSO) has gained new 349 members, who completed a four-month training at the Police Training School (PTS) Gishari, on Thursday, July 25.
The Minister of Local Government, Jean Claude Musabyimana presided over the pass-out of the 7th intake. It was also attended by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Felix Namuhoranye and the Governor-Eastern Province, Pudence Rubingisa.
The Minister thanked the RNP for developing the capacity of DASSO to add impact to the country’s security.
He urged the new DASSO members to create a strong working team with their colleagues to support the people in their communities.
“This training has shaped you to fight unlawful and criminal activities like theft, drug abuse, domestic and gender-based violence. Perform professionally, work with the people to influence change and strong collaboration in matters of security and development,” Minister Musabyimana.
The commandant of PTS, Commissioner of Police (CP) Robert Niyonshuti said that the trainees exhibited discipline and commitment throughout the training adding that the acquired skills will guide them to a successful administrative security duties.
The four-month training is designed to equip DASSO trainees with knowledge of their roles and mandate, skills in firearms, martial arts, First Aid, drills and duties, community policing and environmental protection, among others. (End)
