The National Handball Championship return leg matches concluded with Police Handball Club heading into playoffs at the top of the table thanks to a hard fought 24-23 win over APR Handball Club in the final game played at Kimisagara Youth Centre.
The law enforcers registered a one point lead (11-10) in the first half but clinged on it to the last whistle.
Police HC’s trio; Yves Kayijamahe, Viateur Rwamanywa and Emmanuel Kubwimana scored a combined 17 goals to guide their team to a well deserved win. Kayijamahe and Rwamanywa scored the match high six goals each.
Earlier on, Police HC registered a double win against UR-Huye (40-13) and Nyakabanda (48-23).
The playoffs will feature top four teams; table leaders Police HC, APR HC, Gicumbi HC and ES Kigoma. (End).
