On Friday evening in Nassau, Bahamas, President Kagame attended the 50th Anniversary of Independence Gala hosted by Prime Minister Philip Davis of the Bahamas and Mrs Ann Marie Davis.
The gala celebrated the Bahamas’ independence from the United Kingdom in 1973.
President Kagame is in Nassau, the vibrant capital of the Bahamas, to attend the week-long celebration for the country’s 50th anniversary of independence.
As a former colony of Great Britain, The Bahamas’ attainment of independence on July 10, 1973, was relatively late when compared to some of its sister islands in the Caribbean that were also British colonies. (End)
