Kigali: President Paul Kagame and Commander-in-Chief of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) today commissioned 320 new officers at the Rwanda Military Academy-Gako, in Bugesera District.
Among commissioned officers are intake 8 of one year programme, intake 01 of four year programme with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social and Military Sciences and 4 officers that graduated from partner-countries. 29 of all commissioned officers are females.
In his remarks, President Kagame congratulated the commissioned officers for successfully completing the training and urged them to continue developing their carrier as they contribute to the security and development of Rwanda.
“As the work we have to do increases, you will also be progressing in your career and taking on more and more responsibilities. With continued commitment, you will benefit from this and so will the country. RDF is an army that will continue to protect all that Rwandans have achieved together, including our security, and ensure that we achieve transformation,” said President Kagame.
Today’s graduation of officer cadets at the Rwanda Military Academy in Gako is the eighth intake of the one-year programme and also the first intake of the four-year programme that Rwanda Military Academy partners with University of Rwanda. (End)
