Today at the Kigali Convention Centre, President Kagame delivered remarks during the official launch ceremony of the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) – Rwanda.
“Over the years, the Forum has accompanied our country’s ambition to be a digital economy, aiming at inclusive and sustainable growth. The launch of the Centre is happening at a critical time and we must take full advantage of it”, President Kagame said.
The launch of the Centre, which is being held under the theme “Shaping the Future of Technology Governance in Africa”, is a result of the collaboration between Rwanda’s Ministry of ICT and Innovation and the World Economic Forum (WEF).
C4IR Rwanda is part of a global network of 16 centres, working to promote emerging technologies that can empower global change. C4IR Rwanda, which focuses primarily on artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and data governance, partners with stakeholders around the world to design and implement new approaches to technology governance while creating a conducive environment for innovation and investment in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.(End)
