President Kagame inaugurates AnJia Cement Factory in Muhanga District, built by AnJia Prefabricated Construction Rwanda Company Ltd.
The company is owned by West International Holding, the Africa arm of West China Cement (WCC), a Chinese investment group listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange.
So far, the company has invested $54 million out of the $100 million planned. It currently employs 205 staff (185 Rwandans), with plans to go up to 250 by the end of the year.
AnJia Cement Factory is the largest in Rwanda, with an installed capacity of 1 million metric tons (MT) per year. It is located in Muhanga Industrial Park. (End)
