President Kagame(second from left) participated in a Presidential Dialogue
Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame joined Heads of State from across the continent, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina, leaders from the private and public sector for the official opening ceremony of the AfDB Annual Meetings 2024.
President Kagame participated in a Presidential Dialogue on, “Africa’s Transformation, the African Development Bank Group, and the Reform of the Global Financial Architecture” alongside the meeting’s host President William Ruto of Kenya and leaders from across the continent.
The 59th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of AfDB and the 50th Meeting of the Board of Governors of the African Development Fund is taking place at the Kenyatta International Conference Center in Nairobi, Kenya from 27–31 May 2024. The African Development Fund is the concessional arm of the Bank Group.
The theme of the 2024 Annual Meetings is “Africa’s Transformation, the African Development Bank Group, and the Reform of the Global Financial Architecture.”
The Annual Meetings provide an opportunity for reflection on the AfDB Group’s commitment to accomplishing its mission of developing the African continent and improving the lives of its people.
The meetings are the Bank Group’s most important event annually, attracting around 3,000 participants. They allow the organisation to take stock of progress with its shareholders. (End)
