President Kagame met with Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Michael Holness on the sideline of the 45th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) held in Trinidad and Tobago from July 3 to July 5.
They had a discussion on the progress of the bilateral agreements signed during President Kagame’s visit to Jamaica from 13th to 15th April 2022.
During the visit, it was agreed that efforts would be focused on the promotion and implementation of a specific programme through which periodical consultations may occur to review and explore possible means of collaboration in areas such as Agri-business, Trade and Investment, Logistics and Special Economic Zones, ICT, Health, Tourism, Sport and Culture.
Last evening in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, President Kagame also joined CARICOM leaders as a special guest for a dinner hosted by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley at the Diplomatic Center at the Prime Minister’s residence, as CARICOM celebrates its 50th anniversary. On 4 July 1973, CARICOM was established to deepen regional integration. (End)
