President Kagame received Diana Janse, Sweden’s State Secretary for International Development Cooperation, and delegation who are in Rwanda.
President Kagame and Sweden’s State Secretary Diana Janse discussed strengthening the existing cooperation and boosting trade and investments between Rwanda and Sweden.
Sweden has a longstanding partnership with Rwanda in the area of development cooperation. In the beginning of 2020, the Swedish Government decided on a new strategy for development cooperation with Rwanda, increasing the volume of development cooperation by 40%.
Swedish development cooperation focuses on four areas: Human rights, democracy and the rule of law; Climate and the environment; Inclusive economic growth; and Research cooperation.
In trade and investment relations, there are four areas of interest, namely, green solutions, ICT and digitalization, education and creative industries. (End)
